    Description

On 3 Performance is proud to announce the release of the 2002 – 2006 Chevy / GMC 1500 & 2500 4.8, 5.3, 6.0l single turbo system. This kit has been in development since early 2013 and is now on the shelf, ready to ship. Our turbo system is a bolt on design that has a very clean and simple install. Now that we have been shipping for quite some time, we have gotten a lot of great feedback from customers. One of our favorite quotes from a customer was when they stated, This thing makes so much torque my truck would pull my camper straight up a tree. Once the turbo system is installed and setup, the drivability doesnt even change. We have daily driven our shop truck for the past year to prove this. If anything it actually improves as the turbo is very responsive and the 70mm is quick to make boost. So with lightly accelerating, you will find yourself not pressing the gas pedal as hard with the better throttle response. This is also due to the new found power your truck will be making mid-range as well

We designed the kit to use the stock driverside manifold. From there we made a crossover which is included in the kit ( will clear 4×4 parts and transfer case ) to bring us to the passenger side which is where we located the turbo. Each of the kits come standard with the On 3 Performance 70mm turbocharger and we have options to go anywhere from the 70mm to our newest 78mm.

We have a completely custom turbo manifold unlike any others currently on the market which is completely divided from bank to bank. Its not the typical log manifold that most make and run the driver side bank into. We have both banks completely separated up to the turbo flange which makes for a very cool looking and functional header. With the truck engine bay being so open, we a good amount of room to work with for the wastegate as well. So we have great positioning right at the t4 flange to keep good control over the boost. Included with each turbo system is the On 3 Performance 44mm v-banded wastegate which is loaded with a 6-7psi spring.

To expel all the exhaust from the turbo, we designed a 3 to 3.5 stepped downpipe from 304 stainless steel. This is all constructed from thick, almost 3mm wall tubing which has been proven to stand up to the abuse.

The complete cold side of our turbo system is designed using 3, all aluminum tubing to help dissipate heat, keep the iats as cool as possible and reduce weight. All the tubing is bead rolled to keep the couplers tight when in boost and prevent popping couplers. Not only that, we included stainless t-bolt clamps which provide more clamping power than your traditional worm clamps some use. All of our custom On 3 Performance couplers are 5 ply and come standard as well with each kit. Lastly, our intercooler is the same proven unit we have used for over 5 years with the other turbo systems we make. Included is the 3 core unit which is good up to around 800hp and you can always upgrade to our 4 core if you do plan on pushing the truck to the limits.

New as of 2017:  We now have a 2nd Gen manifold that we created to be more durable through the abuse these trucks see.  This is a very unique manifold design to start with and as you can see we opened an investment mould.  The main runner area is a 3mm thick seamless stainless casting to be as strong as possible.  Highly Recommended Upgrade:

WHAT DO I NEED TO FINISH OFF THE BUILD QUESTION:   This question is asked daily, please read through and understand what you are doing and what your goal is.  Your truck most likely isn’t going crack 250rwhp.  With our turbo system, you mostly likely going to increase power 80-100% minimum in most cases.  Most trucks we put together will make 450-600+ depending on supporting mods and fuel.  This is a typical build that we see and this would be the items used in a 500rwhp build.  In order to support those numbers, here is a list of what we recommend adding to your purchase.  This is a recommendation to eliminate the emails asking what else is needed.  After you finish your install, all truck need a tune:

Fueling Questions:  Please read, we get endless messages on what needs upgraded to support the power.  NO the stock FUEL PUMP OR INJECTORS are going to support your newly turbocharged truck.  Most trucks bone stock end up making 400rwhp or more at 6-7psi depending on the combo with a 70mm On 3 turbo that comes with the kit.  That is about a 57% increase in power and GM did not engineer your truck to be making those numbers on the stock fuel system.  The engine platform is strong and you can normally run it up to 600rwhp or more with the correct fuel upgrades and tuning.  Our shop truck is a daily driven vehicle and makes 625/675 and the engine is bone stock from pan to intake manifold.  If you plan to boost your truck, you need to do the fuel system properly so you don’t end up costing yourself more down the road by blowing up your vehicle.  On any build we do, we run the dual pump assembly and the return fuel line upgrade.  This is going to support 900-1000hp depending on fuel being used and several other variables. Its perfect from a basic 400rwhp combo to a purpose built race truck making serious power.  Please review the following 2 items and seriously consider them when making your purchase for a hassle free, proven product to handle your fuel supply needs:

Need Help Choosing The Proper Turbo?

If you do not know what you are doing with turbo sizing, please call in for advice. We do not want to see you ruin your turbo from lack of proper understanding about motor cubic inch size and turbo exhaust wheel sizing. We most commonly see this when our customers try to put a 65 exhaust wheel on a 6.0 or larger motor. The rule of thumb is the larger the motor, the larger the exhaust wheel you are going to need. If you put too small of a turbo on too large of a motor, the turbo will fail due to this. Again, if you have questions, please call. We can’t possibly know what your project/swap is if you order the kit off of the website without reaching out to us first. Generally, a 70/65 or 76/65 turbo will be just fine for a fairly stock 4.8L or a 5.3L motor, but not ok when you step up into a 6.0. The 6.0L and 6.2L motors should have a 78/75 or larger turbo, depending on the build. Understand that the 76/75 BMF is fine as well, and will actually generate more power than the 78/75. If you are building a 408 or larger, we recommend going with an 88/84mm turbo or a T6, depending on what you are trying to accomplish.
